South Carolina-Texas A&M game time announced

South Carolina has a bye week coming up, but the Gamecocks know when they’ll be kicking off when they resume against Texas A&M.
The Gamecocks will kick off at 7:30 on Oct. 22, the conference announced Monday afternoon. SEC Network will televise the game.

South Carolina is a perfect 4-0 in night games this year, including a 24-14 win over Kentucky, and 0-2 in noon games with losses to Arkansas and Georgia.
The Gamecocks haven’t played a mid-afternoon game yet this season.
Texas A&M has had an odd season, coming in top-15 nationally before starting the year 3-2 with losses to App State and Mississippi State. The Aggies played Alabama close in a 24-20 road loss and will have a bye before coming to South Carolina.
The Gamecocks are winless in eight games all-time against the Aggies and 0-4 at home.
South Carolina after the bye has consecutive home games against A&M and Missouri before finishing the year with three of its last four games on the road.

The Gamecocks are at Vanderbilt and Florida in back-to-back weeks, return home for a game against Tennessee and end the regular season at rival Clemson.
South Carolina started the year with a win over Georgia State then followed it up with losses to Arkansas and Georgia before rattling off three straight wins.

The Gamecocks have now won three consecutive games for the first time since 2017 and are coming off their first win over a ranked team on the road since 2019.
Jovaughn Gwyn earns SEC honors
South Carolina is coming off its biggest game of the season, and players are earning a good amount of publicity from it.
Gamecocks’ offensive lineman Jovaughn Gwyn was named the league’s offensive lineman of the week, his first honor of the season.
It’s the third time he’s been honored with the lineman of the week in the SEC.
Gwyn was the third-highest-ranked offensive player per Pro Football focus. He finished with a 71.4 overall grade and a whopping 86.3 pass block grade.
He didn’t allow a pressure in 27 pass block snaps. This season, Gwyn has played 386 snaps with a 61.7 overall grade. He has a 68.6 pass block grade with a 57.8 run block grade. He’s allowed 12 pressures total through five games.
The Gamecocks beat Kentucky 24-14 and will have a bye this week before hosting Texas A&M.
