South Carolina women's basketball commitment has big game in Chipotle Nationals championship, makes all-tournament team

South Carolina women’s basketball commitment Agot Makeer has had a busy week. On Monday and Tuesday, the future Gamecock was in New York for the McDonald’s All-American Game (alongside fellow USC commit Ayla McDowell). She had a big showing in the Big Apple and then continued playing at a high level as the Chipotle Nationals high school championship tournament concluded this weekend.

Makeer’s Montverde Academy squad knocked Faith Family Academy in the national semifinal on Friday. The 6-1 versatile dynamo had a good day, and class of 2026 USC target Saniyah Hall dropped 28 points, too. Then, on Saturday, they matched up with IMG Academy in an all-Florida championship game.

In what became a tight loss for Montverde, Makeer scored 20 points, dished out four assists, and secured three rebounds. She also shot an efficient 6-for-10 from the field and 5-for-7 from the free throw line.

For her efforts, the Canada native made the Chipotle Nationals All-Tournament Team. Hall joined her on the team with 20 points of her own in the final. Brooklynn Charlo (uncommitted), Kelis Fisher (UConn), and Aaliyah Crump (Texas) rounded out the all-tournament group. Charlo was the Chipotle Nationals Tournament Most Valuable Player.

On3’s industry ranking–a weighted composite of the ratings from On3, 247Sports, and ESPN–ranks Makeer as the No. 4 prospect in the country, regardless of position. She’s the No. 1 player in Florida and would have been the class’ No. 1 overall international player had she stayed in Canada for her senior year. The industry ranking positions her as the top small forward nationally, but she can play multiple other positions, as well.
