South Carolina women's basketball: Aliyah Boston honored by Forbes
Former Gamecock Aliyah Boston has been named to the Forbes “30 Under 30” list in the Sports category.
At age 23, Boston is coming off her third WNBA season, where she was named second-team All-WNBA. Boston is also a former top overall draft pick, rookie of the year, and was named second-team All-Defense.
In July, Boston was honored with “Aliyah Boston Day” in the city of Boston. At that time, she also announced she would be joining the Boston Legacy NWSL team as an investor.
Before her professional career, Boston was a consensus National Player of the Year at South Carolina, leading the Gamecocks to the 2022 national championship. She was also the national freshman of the year, a two-time SEC Player of the Year, and won SEC Defensive Player of the Year and the Lisa Leslie Award all four seasons.

Boston finished her career as South Carolina’s all-time leading rebounder, leader in double-doubles and triple-doubles, and fifth-leading scorer. She is the only player in NCAA history to record a triple-double in her first career game.
In explaining why Boston was picked, Forbes wrote:
“Aliyah Boston was the WNBA’s first overall draft pick and rookie of the year in 2023 and has been selected for the All-Star Game in each of her three pro seasons. In 2025, she led the Indiana Fever back to the playoffs even as injuries limited 30 Under 30 alum Caitlin Clark to 13 games. Off the court, Boston is an investor in NWSL expansion team Boston Legacy FC and hosts a podcast alongside WNBA legend Candace Parker.”

Boston was not the only WNBA star on the 30 Under 30 list. Rookie Paige Bueckers was also recognized. Last year, Caitlin Clark and Angle Reese were named to the 30 Under 30 list. In 2021, A’ja Wilson made the list following her first MVP campaign.
