South Carolina women's basketball announces 2025-26 season theme

South Carolina announced its theme for the 2025-26 season Monday night. The theme is “Beyond Measure.”

South Carolina teased the announcement on social media Monday afternoon, and then posted the theme around 7:30. The video, narrated by Brea Beal, combines clips of the current players practicing and working out, plus highlights from South Carolina’s three championships.

“How do you measure a dream? In points? In wins? In records broken?” Beal says. “Or is it in the quiet moments? The work when no one else is watching. Sweat that falls unnoticed. The hours no one counts. The legacy no one sees, until they do. More than a stat line, not just the headline, it’s beyond measure.”

The logo for this season’s theme includes the themes from previous seasons, along with the uniform numbers of every player of the Dawn Staley era.

The choice of Beal, a player whose impact was always about more than numbers, reflects the message. In a release, South Carolina expanded on the meaning.

“A player’s value to a team is not measured just by her stat line but also by a myriad of other ways she elevates her team,” the release said. “Championships and accolades are not valuable just because of trophies in a case but also because they lift up a university, a city, a state. The value of the FAMS who support the team at Colonial Life Arena and around the country cannot be measured just by ticket sales, but also by the way they form a united community that supersedes all their differences.”

In recent seasons, South Carolina has turned the annual theme announcement into an event, but this was a low-key announcement more like some of Staley’s earlier seasons.

South Carolina has had an official theme for each season beginning with the 2012-13 campaign. The official themes have been “Sacrifice” (2012-13), “Be the Change” (2013-14), “one.” (2014-15), “The Show” (2015-16), “100” (2016-17), “We Are” (2017-18), “Own It” (2018-19), “Woman Up” (2019-20), “What Matters” (2020-21), “Net Worth” (2021-22), “DNA – Dreams, Nets, Assets” (2022-23), “Love” (2023-24), and last season’s theme,“Uncommon” (2024-25).

There have also been some unofficial themes along the way. Themes such as “WAWGWAWN (We All We Got We All We Need)” in 2011-12, “Keep the Main Thing the Main Thing” (2021-22), and, of course, “Revenge Tour” (2023-24).
