South Carolina women's basketball: CBS adds Dawn Staley to its WNBA coverage

Dawn Staley will serve as an analyst on the new CBS WNBA pregame show, the network announced on Wednesday.
The show, called WNBA Tip Off, will debut this Saturday at 7:30 ET on CBS. The game between Indiana and Chicago follows at 8:00 ET. Former Gamecocks Aliyah Boston and Kamilla Cardoso will face off in that game.
Three future airings are scheduled for July 12 (3:00 ET, Golden State vs Las Vegas), August 9 (7:30 ET, Chicago vs Indiana), and August 16 (1:30 ET, New York vs Minnesota). According to Sports Media Watch, the show will not travel to game sites but will be based in a separate studio.

Staley will be joined on the program by host Sarah Kustok and Renee Montgomery. Like Staley, Montgomery is a former WNBA player. In addition to broadcasting, she is currently the vice president and part-owner of the Atlanta Dream.

Staley played in the WNBA from 1999 to 2006 for the Charlotte Sting and Houston Comets. She was a six-time All-Star and named to the 10th and 15th Anniversary teams. Staley began her coaching career at Temple in 2000 while still an active player.
This is not Staley’s first experience as a television analyst. In 2024, Staley was part of NBC’s studio coverage of women’s basketball at the Olympics in Paris.
