South Carolina women's basketball: Gamecocks get official visit from top recruit

South Carolina hosted the nation’s top 2026 recruit for an official visit on Monday. Saniyah Hall is the top-ranked recruit according to On3 and ESPN.
Hall is a 6-2 wing. Originally from suburban Cleveland, last season Hall transferred to Monterde Academy in Florida. There, she was a teammate of 2025 South Carolina signee Agot Makeer.
Behind Hall and Makeer, Montverde was the high school national runner-up last season. Hall scored 28 points in the national semifinal and 20 points in the championship game and joined Makeer on the all-tournament team.
Hall was the MaxPreps National Junior of the Year and a Naismith First-Team All-American. She averaged 20.3 points, 6.7 rebounds, 3.5 assists, 2.8 steals, and 1.3 blocks for the season.

ESPN’s scouting report on Hall is:
“A big guard with a creative handle, Hall can create off the bounce, catch and shoot the three and glide to the rim or power finish with contact. She is savvy and gets to the free-throw line well, and even has some post-up game and an old-school fadeaway jumper.”
Hall also took an official visit to North Carolina at the beginning of May, before last week’s recruiting shutdown. She has also taken an official visit to UCLA, plus visits to Southern Cal and Ohio State.
Hall has offers from almost every program in the country. She has not announced her finalists.
