All-Star weekend is in the books, and the WNBA stretch run begins this week. Catch up on all the Gamecocks in the WNBA.

Allisha Gray sought to defend her title in the Skills Challenge and Three-Point Contest. She finished second in the Three-Point Contest, losing in the final round to Sabrina Ionescu, the 2023 champ. Natasha Cloud won the Skills Challenge.

In the All-Star Game itself, Gray had 18 points in 16 minutes. She took all her shots from behind the arc, going 5-12. It was a vintage All-Star stat line.

As usual with all-star games, the flow was unfavorable to bigs. Aliyah Boston played 18 minutes and had nine points, six rebounds, and two assists.

A’ja Wilson only played 12 minutes to rest her right wrist, which she injured two weeks ago. She had four points, two rebounds, and two assists.

Atlanta Dream (13-9)
Allisha Gray
22 games (22 starts), 35.5 mpg, 18.4 ppg, 5.6 rpg, 4.0 apg, 0.9 spg
Thanks to the blowout of Chicago, Gray got some much-needed rest and still put up a major stat line.

Last week:
at Chicago (86-49 win): 26 minutes*, 14 points, 7 rebounds, 5 assists, steal

Te-Hina Paopao
21 games (4 starts), 12.5 mpg, 5.3 ppg, 1.7 apg, 1.4 rpg, 48.0 3P%
Paopao is third in the WNBA in three-point shooting, and when she gets to play, she invariably produces. She had 10 points in her first 12 minutes to help lead Atlanta’s blowout.

Last week:
at Chicago (86-49 win): 21 minutes, 13 points, 3 rebounds, 3 assists, steal, 3-5 3PT

Upcoming games:
Tuesday, July 22 at Las Vegas (10:00 ET, ESPN)
Wednesday, July 23 at Phoenix (10:00 ET, CBS Sports Network)
Sunday, July 27 at Minnesota (7:00 ET, NBA TV/League Pass)

Chicago Sky (7-15)
Kamilla Cardoso
18 games (17 starts), 24.2 mpg, 12.1 ppg, 7.2 rpg, 1.7 apg, 0.8 bpg, 52.7 FG%
Chicago seemed to forget about Cardoso against Minnesota, and then forgot it had another game against Atlanta. That score is not a misprint.

Last week:
vs Minnesota (91-78 loss): 26 minutes*, 6 points, 6 rebounds, assist
vs Atlanta (86-49 loss): 30 minutes*, 8 points, 11 rebounds, steal

Upcoming games:

Tyasha Harris
5 games, 16.5 mpg, 4.6 ppg, 1.0 rpg, 2.6 apg, 45.5 3P%
Harris injured her left knee against Connecticut on May 27. Initially, there was optimism that it wasn’t long-term, but unfortunately, Harris underwent season-ending surgery on June 10.

Golden State Valkyries (10-12)
Laeticia Amihere
12 games, 14.7 mpg, 6.3 ppg, 5.2 rpg, 1.5 apg
Amihere gave Golden State some strong minutes in the fourth quarter against Phoenix, which needed a last-second free throw to hold off the upset. She had another solid game against Seattle.

at Seattle (67-58 loss): 9 minutes, 4 points, 4 rebounds, assist

Indiana had an underwhelming week, and Boston was no exception. The Fever had to survive against Connecticut and then barely showed up against New York.

Wilson tied the WNBA season-high with 37 points against Dallas. She went 7-12 from the foul line, or else it would have been a 40-piece.

vs Golden State (67-58 win): DNP-CD

Tiffany Mitchell (First 16 games with Las Vegas)

Saturday, July 26 at Washington (7:30 ET, League Pass)

Unsigned
Bree Hall
2 games, 3.9 mpg, 1.5 ppg, 1.0 rpg
Golden State waived Hall on Monday, June 30, to create roster space for players returning from EuroBasket. It wasn’t a surprise, but hopefully Hall put herself on the league’s radar.
