Olivia Vukosa, the top-ranked post in the class of 2026, has named South Carolina as one of her five finalists.

Vukosa made the announcement on social media on Thursday in collaboration with Slam. Her other finalists are UConn, Ohio State, Texas, and LSU.

She made the announcement by listing a starting five comprised of players from each school. They were Sue Bird (UConn), Jaloni Cambridge (Ohio State), Annesah Morrow (LSU), Kyla Oldacre (Texas), and A’ja Wilson (South Carolina).

“It definitely came down to who I talk to the most and which coaches and staff I felt most comfortable around,” Vukosa said. “But also, which girls were trying to interact with me when I was on the phone with the coaches, and who was trying to pop in and say hello to me. Definitely the family aspect of it all, and which schools brought that to me the most.”

6-5 Vukosa is the top-ranked post in the class by ESPN and is ranked third overall. Rivals lists her as a power forward, and she is ranked second at her position and fifth overall. Vukosa projects as a post in college.

Vukosa has been deliberate with her process. She announced a top 12 almost exactly a year ago and then trimmed it to seven in March. Kentucky and North Carolina were eliminated from that group as Vukosa sets up her official visits.

Vukosa took her official visit to Ohio State last weekend, where she attended the Ohio State-Texas football game during her visit. She is scheduled to visit Texas this weekend.

Vukosa hosted LSU for an in-home visit earlier this week and is slated to visit Baton Rouge the weekend of September 27.

In July, Vukosa said she planned to visit North Carolina in October, but it is unclear if she will still visit. She is expected to visit UConn and South Carolina in October.

In March, Vukosa told On3’s Talia Goodman what stood out about South Carolina.

“Coach [Dawn] Staley is a great person. I don’t get to talk to them all the time, but when I do it’s like the conversation gets picked up right where it left off. She has brought great energy, and so does her whole staff.”
