South Carolina sophomore forward Joyce Edwards will compete for Team USA in the 2025 FIBA U23 3X3 Nations League America tournament this week.

The Americas Conference 2 runs from July 21-27 in Punta Arenas, Chile. There are six three-game tournaments over the course of the event. Teams earn points based on their performance at each “stop.”

The team with the most points qualifies for the 2025 3X3 U23 World Cup in China in September.

This is Edwards’ third USA Basketball event of the offseason. She participated in the 3X Nationals in May alongside Gamecock teammates Chloe Kitts, Tessa Johnson, and Maddy McDaniel. They finished third, with their only loss coming in the semifinals.

A few weeks ago, Edwards helped lead the United States to a gold medal in the 2025 FIBA AmeriCup Tournament. That competition was also in Chile, but in Santiago.

The USA beat defending champions Brazil, with Gamecocks Kamilla Cardoso and Ayla McDowell, in the gold medal game. The win gave Edwards her third FIBA gold medal.

Edwards is joined on Team USA by Taylor Bigby (TCU), MiLaysia Fulwiley (LSU), Zee Spearman (Tennessee), Rachel Ullstrom (Richmond), and Serena Sundell (formerly Kansas State).

Each day, four of the six players are declared active and can substitute during the game.

The games are free to stream on the FIBA 3X3 YouTube channel. Note that this is not the same channel that streams five-on-five basketball like the U19 World Cup.
