Photos: Gamecocks roll over Grand Canyon in home opener

The No. 2 South Carolina women’s basketball team opened the season against Grand Canyon on Monday night at the Colonial Life Arena.

Dawn Staley would face off against former assistant Winston Gandy, who is now the head coach of the Antelopes. Prior to the game, the team received rings commemorating last season’s SEC regular-season and tournament championships and another Final Four appearance.

The Gamecocks would defeat the Grand Canyon 94-54. Ta’Niya Latson led all scorers with 20 points.
