South Carolina’s Repeat Tour begins in less than two weeks, on November 4 in Las Vegas. Throughout October, GamecockCentral will profile each member of the team and how she is expected to contribute this season. Today we look at the super senior, Te-Hina Paopao.
Te-Hina Paopao (Super Senior, Guard, 5-9)
37 games (37 starts), 11.0 ppg, 2.6 rpg, 3.7 apg, 46.8 3P%
Player profile
Paopao was the best three-point shooter in the country last season. She isn’t great off the dribble, but she is good enough to get by defenders who close out too aggressively and she has a nice floater. Paopao is a good passer as the backup point guard, and she is solid on defense or rebounding.

Preseason assessment
Paopao was 2-2 from three against Memphis and looked like the same player who was an honorable mention All-American last season. The shot was pure, and she sprinkled in all of the other things that make her so successful.
Burning question: Can Paopao hit 50% from three this season?
She flirted with it for most of the season, but a small slump in late January brought Paopao’s percentage down. She bounced back, highlighted by 21 points on 5-7 shooting against UConn, and then shot 14-31 from behind the arc in the NCAA Tournament.
