South Carolina women's basketball: The 3-2-1 - Clutch players, burning questions, and my favorite play

South Carolina beat South Florida 78-62 on Sunday. Check out the clutch players, burning questions, and my favorite play from the Gamecocks’ return to the court.
Three Clutch Players
Joyce Edwards
Vs USF: 15 points, 2 rebounds, 2 assists, 2 blocks, steal
Edwards scored a career-high and filled up the box score. She scored in the halfcourt and in transition as the Gamecocks are looking for her more often.
Sania Feagin
Vs USF: 14 points, 3 rebounds, assist, block, steal
Remember how Feagin struggled to start the season? Me either. She has settled into her starting role and is also filling up the box score. She’s capable of the occasional spectacular play, but mostly she makes the solid plays on either end of the court. That’s what South Carolina needs from Feagin.
Chloe Kitts
Vs USF: 10 points, 6 rebounds, 3 assists
Kitts continues to be reliable and productive. And she is unselfish. The offense seemed to flow better when Kitts was on the court, and it felt like she made one big play after another.

Two Burning Questions
1. Can South Carolina eliminate the inconsistencies?
Glass half-empty answer: if the coaches have to keep reminding the players to focus, the battle will never end.
Glass half-full answer: it was the first game back after exams, against a good but not sexy program, and they didn’t have any problems with focus over the previous four games.
2. Will Boyer wear her elf outfit on Thursday?

One Favorite Play
This play has defense into offense with spacing and ball movement. Everyone rushed back to get in position, and Chloe Kitts had her choice of where to go with the ball. The pass to Ashlyn Watkins was pretty.
