The November signing period is now over, and the dust has settled. Where do things stand for South Carolina?

The Definitely Good

South Carolina’s two birdies both made it official. Kaeli Wynn and Kelsi Andrews had already committed to the Gamecocks, and both signed on the first day of the signing period. They are both high upside with versatile skillsets for their position.

South Carolina isn’t finished with this class, but Wynn and Andrews give the Gamecocks a great base.

The Bad

Post target Fope Ayo committed to Michigan over South Carolina, Miami, and Stanford.

The Okay

South Carolina didn’t get any signing period surprises. There were no surprise commitments, but also nobody South Carolina expected to land who committed elsewhere.

When Jerzy Robinson didn’t participate in Sierra Canyon’s signing day, it signaled her intention to wait until the spring signing period. South Carolina was in good shape had she committed now.

There are a lot of reasons Robinson could be waiting. She could be trying to drive up her price, trying to get more attention as the top unsigned player (more attention would make her more marketable), hoping to get a Godfather offer, or she could be genuinely undecided.

The Probably Good

Sarah Okeke and Alicia Tournebize delayed their decisions. South Carolina has not gotten either on campus yet, so an early decision probably wouldn’t have been in the Gamecocks’ favor. Now, South Carolina has four months to make its case to both players.

What to Watch Going Forward

Unless another international player enters the picture, it appears South Carolina is still recruiting three players.

Robinson appears to be done with official visits. She could still take unofficial visits.

Tournebize and Okeke should take official visits. Tournebize was at Kentucky on Tuesday for the Wildcats’ game against Purdue. A visit to South Carolina hasn’t been confirmed, but logically, she would make both visits on the same trip.
