The 2001 Club Report: South Carolina Recruiting Review from Saturday’s Coastal Carolina Game

At the time of writing, it’s Sunday night. Coming off a 51-7 victory versus Coastal Carolina yesterday, the Gamecocks continue to build momentum. While the visit list was limited due to senior night and fewer passes, South Carolina still hosted a few big names on campus along with some under-the-radar prospects. I’m taking an audible here, combining all the information into one big article, unlike what I did for the rest of the season, and giving it a name for future use: The 2001 Club Report. If you didn’t read our work last night, “Live Recruiting Updates from the South Carolina vs Coastal Carolina Game” is linked here for reference. This weekend didn’t feature a star-studded visitor list, largely because of the smaller opponent and senior night restrictions, which limited passes. That allowed South Carolina to bring in younger, up-and-coming prospects and give them a more personal experience. The most important visitor was soon-to-be five-star EDGE Julian Walker from Irmo, SC, currently committed to Michigan. With his dad on staff at South Carolina, this was Walker’s final visit to the program before National Signing Day.
