Week 2 starters, other notable changes for South Carolina ahead of kickoff

South Carolina is a little under 30 minutes away from its home opener at Williams-Brice Stadium. The Gamecocks will face SC State on ESPN+/SEC Network+.
The Gamecocks have taken the field for pregame warmups, which means the starting lineups for offense, defense and special teams have been revealed.
After not releasing a depth chart last week, South Carolina put out its first depth chart of the season on Tuesday ahead of Week 2. But based on who’s starting in Saturday’s game, there are a few notable changes from the initial depth chart.
We’ll get into the biggest changes, but here’s a look at the starting lineups for the Gamecocks. **This is what was announced on the videoboard during warmups.**

So the biggest change for South Carolina comes on the offensive line as Shed Sarratt, a four-star freshman from Gaffney (SC), will start at left guard. Rodney Newsom Jr. started there in the season opener, but he was replaced after halftime by Markee Anderson.
Sarratt didn’t travel with the team last week, but head coach Shane Beamer confirmed on Thursday that he would be available to play in Week 2.

“Shed is gonna be a really good player for us,” Beamer said on Carolina Calls. “He was not on the trip to Atlanta and was not healthy. He is this week. He’ll play this Saturday night, so it’s good to have him back as well, a young offensive lineman that’s got a big future.”
Another big change will be freshman Donovan Murph starting at one of the wide receiver spots. The Irmo native, who generated a lot of buzz during fall camp, made one catch for 21 yards in Week 1.
As expected, Judge Collier and JT Geer will not play on Saturday. Both came away with injuries after last week’s win over Virginia Tech. However, Beamer previously said those injuries won’t be long-term, as they could be ready to go next Saturday when the Gamecocks host Vanderbilt.
With Collier out, Myles Norwood will get the start at defensive back. Geer wasn’t a starter at EDGE last week with Dylan Stewart and Bryan Thomas Jr. handling those duties.
