Welcome Home! Former Irmo standout transferring to South Carolina softball from UGA

After one year at Georgia, Precious Bross is coming home.
The former Irmo High School standout committed to coach Ashley Chastain Woodard and the South Carolina softball program Monday during a visit to the program.
The 5-foot-7 middle infielder entered the transfer portal on June 10 and chose the Gamecocks over Duke after taking official visits to both schools.
“I’m extremely thankful for the opportunity to play in my hometown!” Bross said. “The coaches, staff, and culture at Carolina are everything I could ever ask for. God has continued to bless me in ways I could have never imagined! I cannot wait for what’s next here in Columbia!”

Bross is ranked a three-star prospect with an 87 rating by On3.
She joins the South Carolina program with three years of eligibility remaining after playing in 32 games, all off the bench, during her true freshman season in Athens. The speedy, athletic Bross had two hits in five at-bats and scored nine runs with one stolen base, while primarily being used as a pinch runner.
