What to know: South Carolina men's basketball at SEC Media Day

In less than 24 hours, South Carolina men’s basketball will take the stage to kickoff SEC Tipoff ’25, otherwise known as SEC Media Day.
All 16 SEC teams, for both men’s and women’s hoops will take part in the two-day event from Oct. 15-16. The men will go first on Tuesday, while the women will have their day on Wednesday.

For this year’s men’s side, the Gamecocks will be up first in Birmingham, Alabama on Tuesday. Head coach Lamont Paris will be joined by sophomore forward Collin Murray-Boyles and graduate forward Nick Pringle. According to the SEC Tipoff ’25 schedule, South Carolina will have the floor from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. ET.
The SEC Network will be providing live coverage starting at 11 a.m. ET each day. GamecockCentral will be providing live updates and coverage of the event with what Paris and the players had to say.
According to a press release from USC, the Gamecocks will make “live appearances on the SEC Network from 11:05-11:20 a.m. and SiriusXM SEC Radio (channel 374) from 10:30-11 a.m.”

South Carolina is coming off one of its best seasons in program history after finishing 26-8 in 2023-24. The Gamecocks reached the NCAA Tournament for the first time since 2017 where they would suffer an 87-73 defeat to Oregon in the Round of 64.

South Carolina kicks off the season with an exhibition match against Paris’ alma mater, The College of Wooster, on Wednesday, Oct. 30. Tip-off is at 7 p.m. at Colonial Life Arena and admission will be free.
The regular season will officially begin a few days later when the Gamecocks take on North Florida on Monday, Nov. 4. Tip-off for the home opener will be at 7 p.m. on SEC Network+.
