Aussie Logan Foley is the latest to make trek from Outback to Rocky Top
Australian punter Logan Foley is the latest Aussie born kicker to land on the Tennessee roster. He visited last weekend and announced his signing and commitment to Tennessee on Wednesday.
“It was unreal,” Foley said. “Coming from Australia, just the size of everything here is insane. We don’t have anything like this back home. Just the facilities and getting shown around on that side of things was unreal.”
Tennessee punter Jackson Ross has been in Knoxville for the last four years. Having him show Foley the ropes was a nice perk to the trip.
“It’s great and a wealth of knowledge,” Foley said. “He has lived in my shoes so he has done exactly what I’m doing at the moment but it’s great following in his footsteps. He is a great punter and an even better bloke.”
Pro Kick Australia helps find football homes and just like Ross, they fit Foley to Knoxville. He took the advice from Ross because he knows it can help him.

“He said just take it as it comes,” Foley said. “The program is going to offer you so much so just fully commit yourself to it. Obviously the size and the crowd as a punter you just have to block it all out and do your job. If you aren’t punting then that’s a good thing.”
He is a right footed punter unlike Ross, who can kick both. He is more of a traditional spiral type of punter. That suits a guy like Dustin Colquitt, who is around the program after many years in the NFL.
“Obviously he is amazing,” Foley said. “Played 15 plus years in the NFL so just having that ability to talk to him and get a feel for the next level is huge. Ultimately that is the goal to kick in the NFL.”
Foley is 23 just like Ross when he arrived in Knoxville. He is from Perth, Australia.
