Did Tennessee make a move for Moose Ludwig?

Billings, Montana is a long way from Rocky Top but tight end Matt “Moose” Ludwig was at Tennessee this weekend to checkout the Vols. Before leaving town on Sunday, Volquest caught up with him to breakdown the visit.
“I really enjoyed practice and being able to come out here and experience time with the coaches,” Ludwig said. “Just taking the time to get a feel for the environment and culture here at Tennessee. It’s been awesome to see how the offense works.”
Coming in, he had done his homework about the Vols.
“I knew a lot about their offense and how high tempo it is,” Ludwig said. “Then coming here I found out how valued their run game is, especially for the tight end. I know that’s an importance for my game. I learned a lot about blocking while being here and a lot of key things I can take back home to key on my skills.”
Being able to watch tight ends coach Alec Abeln coach at practice on Saturday was very important and he was able to get a feel for things.

“I loved his intensity with every intent and every drill,” Ludwig said. “I loved how he coaches guys and really pushes them to the max and to be the best they can be.”
Tennessee impressed Ludwig
So where is Tennessee at in his process?
“Very interested just like I am with all these other schools as well,” Ludwig said. “Just trying to keep an open mind because the world of college football is crazy. Anything can happen. Tomorrow morning something crazy could happen and change my whole plan and future. I want to keep an open view of every school and my interest is very high.”
Ludwig will visit Tennessee officially in May and he is looking forward to getting back.
“I’m really just hoping to be here to spend time with the coaches,” Ludwig said. “Just keep building the relationship I have with all of them. Just continue to feel the culture of Knoxville.”
