Baylor School (Tenn.) 2027 running back David Gabriel-Georges has been the talk of the high school football scene in the Volunteer State for the past few days following his sensational performance against McCallie on Friday night.

The standout Junior running back ran the ball for 280 yards and three touchdowns to lead Baylor to their first win at McCallie since 1996. Now, he is ready to return to Rocky Top to take another look at the Vols this upcoming weekend as they play host to Arkansas.

Gabriel-Georges reaffirmed his visit plans to Volquest on Tuesday and tells us he will be in town along with his family, who will make the trip from Canada.

Gabriel-Georges is the top prospect in the Volunteer State for the 2027 cycle, and he is set to challenge for the top spot at running back as well in the class.

“Georges rattled off 280 yards rushing including scores of 60, 53 and 51 yards that put the game away for Baylor,” Rivals National Scout Cody Bellaire wrote earlier this week. “He continues to shine on the stat sheet and impresses on film each and every week. His ability as a runner makes him undoubtedly one of the top running backs in the country and one of the top prospects regardless of position in the 2027 cycle.”

Gabriel-Georges has felt like a priority for the Vols for sometime, and he has continued to build a strong bond with De’Rail Sims.

“I like him a lot,” Gabriel-Georges said of Sims earlier in the fall. “He is a really good guy. I am planning to go to a game with Gabe and Jamyan. It is really close, so it is really something that I appreciate. I know we are going to have fun when we go there, and I am excited to get to talk even more with the coaches.”

A focal point during his upcoming visit to Rocky Top will be the Tennessee offense.

“I want to just continue to see how they use those guys more,” Gabriel-Georges said of this in August. “When I was there in the summer, Coach De’Rail told me about how they use them and how they include their running backs in the passing game. That is something I like a lot. I want to see that because it gives me more opportunities to make plays. I want to see how they continue to get their running backs in the open field more because that is really great. Coach Kimrey makes sure I get in the open field more here, and they use me in the passing game a lot, so I want to see if it is kind of similar.”
