Tennessee freshman early enrollee Kaleb Beasley suffered a fractured fibula on Thursday morning during Tennessee’s spring practice.

Beasley just arrived on campus last weekend ahead of spring practice. Both he and his Lipscomb Academy teammate Edwin Spillman found a way to get out of high school early after initially not being able to enroll in January.

“Kaleb Beasley, Edwin Spillman joined us here today,” Josh Heupel said on Monday. “They weren’t with us at the beginning of this semester, but they were able to join us today too. So great to get on the grass with those guys and start our on-the-field journey for this season.”

Beasley met the media on Tuesday after the second practice of spring and he detailed his whirlwind last couple of months to get to campus.

“We’ve definitely opened it up and I think me and Ed [Edwin Spillman] are the first to do it,” Beasley said on graduating early from the private region. “It’s definitely big. I was excited to get here when I figured out I could come. It’s definitely an advantage or sure.”

Beasley grew up in an orange favored household. His dad Terrio Beasley has been a Tennessee fan for years. Kaleb had all kinds of orange in his room including orange curtains. Teams like Oklahoma and Notre Dame made a push but it was always Tennessee.

“I feel like from day one, I was locked in with Tennessee,” Beasley said. “I felt it. I knew it. I was just kind of taking my time and exploring my options. I feel like definitely that was home. I was a Tennessee fan growing up.”

Beasley is expected to be in the meeting rooms all spring and should be back for summer conditioning and be full go by fall camp in August.
