Tennessee picked up a historic win over rival Alabama on Saturday, snapping a 15-game losing-streak in the process. The Vols now check in at No. 3 in the latest AP College Football Poll and control their own destiny the rest of the way in the regular season.

Following the victory, Jalin Hyatt was named the SEC Offensive Player of the Week for his six-catch, five-touchdown performance that saw the receiver surpass 200 yards. Chase McGrath, who kicked the game-winning field goal from 40-yards, was awarded the SEC Special Teams Player of the Week and Darnell Wright was tabbed as Co-SEC Offensive Lineman of the Week.

Tennessee is 6-0 for the first time since 1998 and it’s the highest ranking for the Volunteers sic the preseason 2005 squad that kicked things off at No. 3. The last time the Vols were inside the top 5 in season was in 2001 after the Vols beat Florida to end the regular season.
The 2022 Vols are the only team in college football to beat four ranked opponents this season. The latest was Saturday’s 52-49 thriller against Alabama where the Vols ended a 15 game losing streak.
Tennessee is back in action this Saturday for the noon eastern time kick with UT Martin. The game will serve as Homecoming on Rocky Top.
