Liam Doyle’s one season on Rocky Top was simply elite and on Tuesday, the southpaw was named the Pitcher of the Year by Perfect Game.

Doyle, who transferred from Ole Miss to Tennessee alongside Andrew Fischer, was a dominant pitcher in college baseball this season. The Tennessee ace finished with a 10-4 record in 17 starts and 19 appearances. He had a 3.20 ERA, 0.99 WHIP and struck out 164 against just 32 walks over 95.2 innings pitched.

The lefty currently leads the nation in strikeouts and is the Tennessee single-season record holder in the category. Doyle has also been named a Finalist for both the prestigious Golden Spikes and Dick Howser Awards.

Doyle, along with Fischer and infielder Gavin Kilen were named First Team All-Americans by Perfect Game on Tuesday as well. Fischer hit a team-high 25 home runs after transferring from Ole Miss. He hit .341 while also leading Tennessee in RBI (65), runs scored (70), total bases (165), walks (63), slugging percentage (.760), on-base percentage (.497) and OPS (1.257).

Kilen hit a team-high .357 and had a 1.112 OPS with a .671 slugging percentage after transferring to Tennessee. He hit 15 home runs, had 46 RBI and 60 runs scored on his 75 hits, which included 13 doubles and four triples. He started 52 times in 53 games.

Hunter Ensley, along with Kilen, Fischer and Doyle, was also named to the ABCA Southeast All-Region team on Tuesday.

This season he set career highs in batting average (.336), OPS (.949), at-bats (241), runs (46), hits (81), doubles (17), RBIs (62), total bases (128), walks (30), on-base percentage (.418) and stolen bases (seven).

Doyle, Kilen and Fischer are all in the top in the top 30 of MLB.com‘s prospect rankings for this summer’s MLB Draft. Doyle is No. 9 overall while Kilen is No. 17 and Fischer is No. 29.

Eight Tennessee players are ranked in the top 200: No. 58 Dean Curley, No. 65 Marcus Phillips, No. 69 AJ Russell, No. 119 Tanner Franklin and No. 143 Nate Snead.

Tennessee’s season ended on Sunday at Arkansas during the program’s fifth-straight super regional appearance. The Vols finished with a 46-19 overall record in their seventh supers appearance under the current format.
