Former Tennessee defensive lineman and Kansas City Chiefs rookie Omarr Norman-Lott suffered a torn ACL during the 31-0 win over the Las Vegas Raiders on Sunday.

Norman-Lott will finish his first season in the NFL with five tackles and a sack.

ESPN reported that Norman-Lott’s playing time was set to increase in the coming weeks while “hoping he could develop into a consistent contributor as part of the team’s pass rush alongside All-Pro defensive tackle Chris Jones and defensive end George Karlaftis,” ESPN’s Nate Taylor wrote

Omarr Norman-Lott at Tennessee: 10 tackles for loss, 9.5 sacks

Norman-Lott played 23 games over Tennessee at the last two seasons, transferring to the Vols after three years at Arizona State. He had 10 tackles for loss and 9.5 sacks at Tennessee and 17 TFLs and 13.5 sacks over his five-year college career.

Tennessee had four players selected in the 2025 NFL Draft in April. James Pearce went in the first round at No. 26 overall to the Atlanta Falcons, Omarr Norman-Lott was picked in the second round at No. 63 overall by the Kansas City Chiefs.

Dont’e Thornton and Dylan Sampson were both fourth-round picks, with Thornton at No. 108 overall to the Las Vegas Raiders and Sampson at No. 126 overall to the Cleveland Browns.

Defensive tackle Omari Thomas signed with the New Orleans Saints as an undrafted free agent and defensive tackle Elijah Simmons signed with the Arizona Cardinals. Safety Will Brooks signed with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in August.

In Kansas City Norman-Lott joined former Tennessee offensive lineman and Pro Bowl guard Trey Smith.

Omarr Norman-Lott’s rookie contract worth $7.2 million

According to Spotrac, Norman-Lott is playing on a four-year rookie contract worth $7.2 million. The deal came with a $1.87 million signing bonus and $4.3 million guaranteed at signing.

He’s making $840,000 in base salary and carries a $1.3 million cap hit. He’s set to make $1.16 million next season and would make $1.49 million in 2027 and $1.8 million in 2028 before becoming an unrestricted free agent in 2029.

Norman-Lott was the ninth defensive tackle selected in the draft, which included five in the first round alone.

“I’m excited to go out there and do it and prove all the naysayers wrong,” Norman-Lott said during Chiefs rookie minicamp. “But I’m not the kind of guy that listens to all the outside chatter. I just focus on what’s at hand, stay where my feet are at and play hard.”
