Pair of Vols named to All-SEC Tournament Team

Tennessee Vol veterans Hunter Ensley (OF) and Cannon Peebles (C) were named to the All-Southeastern Conference Tournament Team Sunday afternoon following Vanderbilt’s 3-2 win over Ole Miss in the title game from the Hoover Met.
Peebles led all catchers at the event with a .455 batting average in three games, going 5-for-11 with four runs driven in and three runs scored. Ensley ranked fifth in the outfield group with a .417 clip, going 5-for-12 with two runs scored. Ensley’s three games played were the most of any in the top-five grouping for outfield average.
The Vols won two games in Hoover this past week, racking up a season-high 20 hits in the 15-10 win over Alabama on Wednesday and erasing an early 4-0 deficit on Thursday in the 7-5 victory in 12 innings over top-ranked Texas.
Saturday’s semifinal loss to Vanderbilt was the second-straight season the two teams squared off for a spot in the conference tournament title game. It was also the fourth time under Tony Vitello the Vols have played in the conference semifinal contest.
