Rashad Streets recaps Rocky Top after Tennessee trip

The ride to Tennessee last weekend was not a hard one for Raleigh edge Rashad Streets. He heard the message at the Big Orange BBQ weekend.
“It’s kind of hard to get much better than this, where I’m coming from in North Carolina,” Streets said.
“I feel like the location, it’s not that far from where I’m from North Carolina. I think they have a good history of developing North Carolina edges like James Pearce,”
Streets visited Tennessee back in March for spring practice. This trip drove home the point that Streets was hearing the same message consistently.
“Coming back here, I feel like you have to check,” Streets said. “If you come here one time, they sell you one thing. You come back here another time, they might say the same thing.

“But I feel like they’ve just been really consistent in their approach to everything. I came back here and they said the same things, how they want me, development and stuff. Then, my parents actually came down here, because last time I came out here with my brother, so I feel like having my mom and my grandma come out here, too, that was really important for me.”
Streets has been impressed by outside linebackers coach Chop Harbin. The combo of SEC football and Harbin have Tennessee positioned well.
“They were my first SEC offer,” Streets said. “Just building a relationship with Coach ‘Chop,’ I feel like he’s a really genuine coach, from development, so certain things like that is what made them really stick out to me. It’s not that far (away). It’s the SEC.”
As for where the Vols stand early in the process, Streets left no doubt Tennessee is in it.
“They’re pretty high on my list,” Streets said.
And he plans on being back this fall.
“I definitely plan on coming back here for a game,” he said. “I just don’t have that scheduled yet. But I know for certain that I’m coming back here for a game.”
