Tennessee hits the road for the first time on Saturday when they take on Mississippi State in Starkville. The crew from Volquest dive into the matchup in this week’s Rocky Top Roundtable.

“I think you can expect this team to be mature,” Brent Hubbs said. “I think they have handled themselves the right way in every game they have played so far. The two games they were supposed to to take care of business in, they immediately took care of business. They were ready to play against Georgia and ready to play against Syracuse. I think you are building off maturity that you have seen and that’s what you are banking off in this game.”

Tennessee has struggled to communicate on defense at times early in the season but should find more friendly communication on the road. Whereas on offense, they will battle the cowbells.

“I’ll be surprised if just because of how efficient they have been on offense and yes it will be a different environment and it will be loud but unless State gives them something to be loud about, that won’t sustain itself,” Rob Lewis said. “Just as efficient as Joey has been and how he is balancing that efficiency with aggressiveness, surprising doesn’t cover it.”

Mississippi State will have white out against Tennessee

Tennessee won’t be wearing its traditional white road uniform Saturday at Mississippi State. Instead, the Bulldogs are going with a white out against the Vols.

Mississippi State announced in August that it will wear its all-white core road uniform for the Tennessee game, paired with a white helmet with the maroon interlocking MSU logo and a maroon facemask and helmet stripe.
