SEC announces 2026 league baseball schedule

For the third time in four years, the Tennessee baseball team will begin Southeastern Conference play on the road away from Lindsey Nelson Stadium. This was learned Tuesday afternoon when the league released the 2026 conference slate to member institutions.
Tony Vitello’s ninth season on Rocky Top has his program hitting the road to take on Georgia in Athens to kickoff SEC play from March 13-15. The first home series of conference action takes place the following weekend when Tennessee plays host to Missouri.
The Vols hit the road again to end the month, travelling a few hours west to take on rival Vanderbilt in Nashville from March 27-29. The defending national champion LSU Tigers, coached by Jay Johnson, roll into town to kickoff the month of April and then Tennessee hits the road to take on Mississippi State in Starkville from April 10-12.
The first back-to-back home series in conference play are the weekends of April 17-19 (Ole Miss) and April 24-26 (Alabama) before Tennessee travels to Lexington to take on Kentucky at the beginning of May. The final home series of SEC action will be against Texas from May 8-10 before the Vols end the conference season on the road at Oklahoma from May 14-16.

As of now, the only Thursday-Saturday series scheduled in league play is the final weekend of the regular season at Oklahoma. That weekend is a mandated Thursday-Saturday slate due to the start of the Southeastern Conference Baseball Tournament in Hoover, Ala. beginning early the following week.

When the television schedule is announced later in the offseason, at least one weekend will likely shift up a day to the Thursday-Saturday slate.
Tennessee has opened conference play on the road three of the past four years. The Vols were at Missouri to begin SEC play in 2023 and at Alabama the following year before welcoming Florida to Lindsey Nelson Stadium to begin the 2025 conference schedule last season.
The Vols are set to play the two new additions to the SEC (Texas, Oklahoma) for first time in league action in 2026 when Texas comes to Knoxville May 8-10 and the Vols travel to Norman, Okla. from May 14-16.
The Southeastern Conference schedule consists of 10, three-game series to equal 30 games. Tennessee has won the league’s regular season and tournament championship twice over the past four seasons (2022, 2024) and has competed in five-straight Super Regionals under Tony Vitello, wining the College World Series in 2024.
Tennessee’s entire 2026 baseball schedule will be announced at a later date.
