Roughly 25 minutes prior to the start of Knoxville Regional action for host Tennessee and No. 4 seed Miami (OH), lightning was detected around the stadium, so the contest has been put in a weather delay.

Expected first pitch time is now slated for 7:06 PM ET. The game will still be televised on ESPNU and steamed on ESPN+. No. 3 seed Cincinnati handled No. 2 seed Wake Forest earlier in the day and will await the winner of this one on Saturday night at 6 o’clock ET. The loser takes on the Demon Decans in an elimination game at 12 PM ET on Saturday.

Wake Forest (2), Cincinnati (3), Miami-OH (4) will join the Vols in the Knoxville Regional, which is slated opposite of the Fayetteville Regional with host Arkansas as the No. 3 overall seed. The winner of the Knoxville Regional will play the winner of the Fayetteville Regional in super regional play. The winner of the best-of-three-games series will punch a ticket to Omaha for the 2025 College World Series.

Tennessee, who earned the No. 14 overall seed, will begin against Miami (Ohio) on Friday at 6 p.m. Eastern Time, televised on ESPNU. Wake Forest and Cincinnati play Friday at 1 p.m. ET on ESPN+. Losers and winners from the two games will matchup on Saturday in the double-elimination format.

Tennessee is hosting a regional for the fourth time over the last five years. The Vols have advanced to the super regional round each of the last five seasons, including a road win in the Clemson Regional in 2023. Since the decade flipped to the 2020s, Tennessee is undefeated (12-0) in regional play.
