Tennessee baseball coach Josh Elander has officially announced the hire of Chuck Jeroloman as associate head coach to his first coaching staff in Knoxville Friday morning.

The news of Jeroloman leaving Florida to come coach at Tennessee was first reported by D1 Baseball on Thursday and confirmed by Volquest. Additionally, sources told Volquest that Jeroloman would take Elander’s old role as associate head coach while assistant coach Ross Kivett would take on recruiting coordinator duties for the program.

The university release also confirmed Frank Anderson is staying o as pitching coach.

“With a proven track record of connecting with and developing players at an elite level, along with years of experience in the SEC as a coach and a player, Chuck Jeroloman will instantly help elevate our program,” Elander said of his hire in a university release. “I want to thank Danny White and our administration for making this possible with their continued investment into the baseball program here at Tennessee to ensure it remains among the elite programs in the country.”

Jeroloman was serving as interim head coach for the Florida Gators since skipper Kevin O’Sullivan took a leave of absence for personal reasons last week. Jeroloman was preparing for his seventh season with the Gators and his second as associate head coach. He spent several years on staff as the recruiting coordinator as well.

While with the Gators, Jeroloman was key in both offensive success at the plate and on the recruiting trail. The new Tennessee associate head coach aided in the production of stars Jac Caglianone and Wyatt Langford, as well as other All-SEC players such as Luke Heyman, Kade Kurland, Josh Rivera and countless more.

Florida’s offense in 2025 tallied the seventh-most home runs (94) in program history while seven players logged double-digit home runs in 2024 with the help of Jeroloman. The hitting coach also instructed Florida’s third-longest hitting-streak in program history (144 games) from May 27, 2022 to June 19, 2024.

With Jeroloman on staff, Florida made NCAA Tournament berths in all six seasons, including two trips to Omaha for the College World Series. The Gators finished as runner-up to LSU in 2023.

Elander and Jeroloman know each other from their time at TCU. When Elander was a player for the Horned Frogs, Jeroloman was a volunteer coach. Sources say the two have remained friends during their time as assistant coaches at various stops.

Jeroloman played seven years professionally after being drafted by the Rd Sox. He also played in the SEC with Auburn from 2002-2004. Jeroloman helped both South Florida and Jacksonville to NCAA Regional berths as a member of staff prior to joining Florida in 2018.

Other coaching stops along the way for Jeroloman include TCU as a volunteer assistant from 2012-2013 and Palm Beach Central High School assistant coach from 2008-2011.
