Tennessee baseball announced the 2024 complete schedule Friday afternoon, a slate that is highlighted by 38 home games and seven series played at Lindsey Nelson Stadium – a venue that will have noticeable changes for the upcoming season.

The Vols will begin the campaign in a familiar scene at the Shriners Children’s College Showdown from February 16-18. The stacked field of competition, taking place in Arlington, Texas, will play games at Globe Life Field, home to the Texas Rangers.

As announced last week by the tournament committee, Tennessee will be in the primetime slots for each ballgame, taking on Texas Tech and Oklahoma at 8 o’clock eastern time on that Friday and Saturday before challenging Baylor at 7:30 eastern time on the Sunday night.

The first home game of the season will be just two days later against UNC Ashville on Tuesday, February 20 while a bout with ETSU will follow the next day. Both of those contests will showcase 4:30 pm eastern time first pitch start times. The duo of games kicks off a 15-game home-stretch that takes action straight into Southeastern Conference play in Tuscaloosa on March 15-17.

Tennessee hosts Albany for the first home-series of the year on February 23-25 before High Point comes to town the following Tuesday. Bowling Green travels south to Knoxville the next weekend (March 1-3), ahead of Kansas State and Southern Indiana for a pair of midweek contests on the Tuesday and Wednesday that follow. The Vols host Illinois from March 8-10 and Eastern Kentucky on Tuesday, March 12, as their final tune-ups before conference play begins.

Other home midweek games on the schedule include Xavier (March 19), Tennessee Tech (March 26), Alabama A&M (April 9), Bellarmine (April 16), Western Carolina (April 23), Lipscomb (April 30), Queens (May 7) and Belmont (May 14).

Tennessee Baseball in SEC Play

The Vols will host five league series at Lindsey Nelson Stadium this season, starting with Ole Miss on March 22-24.

The other interconference series at the friendly confines includes Georgia (March 29-31), LSU (April 12-14), Missouri (26-28) and South Carolina (May 16-18). Tennessee will once again start the league schedule on the road, traveling to Alabama for a March 15-17 weekend. The Vols will be at Auburn (April 5-7), Kentucky (April 19-21), Florida (May 3-5) and Vanderbilt (May 10-12) as well on the season.

UT’s conference-opening series at Alabama marks the fifth time under Tony Vitello the Vols beginning the conference slate away from Lindsey Nelson Stadium. It’ll once again be a grueling conference slate, as seven of the 10 SEC opponents played in an NCAA Regional last summer while LSU and Florida battled for the national title. The two, along with Tennessee, represented the SEC in Omaha last season for the College World series.

The Hoover Met in Hoover, Ala. will host the SEC Tournament beginning on Tuesday, May 21. Tennessee began last season’s conference slate with a 5-10 record before closing by winning 11 of their final 15 games in SEC play and 15 of 19 overall.
