Athletics director Danny White adds to his executive team

Tennessee athletics director Danny White is adding experience to his athletic cabinet. Tennessee is hiring former Auburn AD Allen Greene. 

Greene has spent this this last year at Ole Miss as the Senior Deputy Athletics Director/External Relations and Business Development. In Oxford, Greene oversaw the department’s external operations and maintained sport oversight of the football program. 

Greene spent five years at Auburn as the athletics director. Prior to being on the Plains, Greene served as the athletics director at the University at Buffalo from 2015-18. 

Before being named director of athletics at Buffalo, Greene served as the senior associate athletic director for administration and deputy director of athletics for the Bulls under White’s leadership. Greene also has experience working in the Southeastern Conference, leading several significant business development and advancement functions at the University of Mississippi. Before joining Ole Miss, Greene spent two years in athletics advancement for Notre Dame and five years in its compliance office. 

“One of the key objectives from our strategic plan “Rise Glorious” was to attract goal-driven and intensely competitive teammates to strengthen our family-oriented, innovative and fearless culture and Allen is a tremendous addition to our leadership team,” White said. “Allen’s one of the most dynamic and engaging leaders I’ve been fortunate to work alongside, and I am thrilled to be able to add one of the stars of our profession and his wonderful family to Rocky Top.”  

Added Greene, “I’m very appreciative for this opportunity to once again be a teammate with Danny and join the talented executive team he has assembled at Tennessee. The Tennessee brand is second to none and I am looking forward to help propel UT athletics in this modern era of our industry. My family and I can’t wait to get started on Rocky Top.” 

In the coming weeks/months, White is reshuffling some responsibilities in his cabinet as current administrator Monica Lebron is leaving the department.
