Tennessee flips top-100 EDGE Hezekiah Harris

Tennessee has continued to pursue top-100 EDGE Hezekiah Harris for months despite his commitment to Auburn. Moments ago, the Vols persistence paid off when Harris announced his decision to flip from The War Eagles to the Vols.
Tennessee’s charge for Harris has been led by outside linebackers Coach Levorn Harbin.
Harris’s relationship with Harbin and Josh Heupel have been key for the Vols throughout this process.
“I really just feel like Chop did a really good job at recruiting me and Coach Heup, loves me and he loves me and my family,” Harris said before announcing on instagram. “And just the overall atmosphere I really love Tennessee and I feel like this is home.”
Harbin was key in Tennessee securing the last official visit of the process for Harris, and this allowed the Vols to grab the momentum going into the summer.
“I love that like he’s really passionate about wanting to coach me,” Harris said. “He is every day, we talk every day with my family every day and that really is a big part of why I really wanted to come to Tennessee.”

So what is Tennessee getting in the pass rusher?
“Overall just a great attitude,” Harris said. “Of course I can play but like as that’s just not the only thing I’m good for. I’m also a good man. On the field, just my pass rush abilities, my leadership, I’m a really good leader on the field.”
Harris had been committed to Auburn since July of 2024 before his decision to flip today. It was a decision that he didn’t take lightly and ultimately he just felt like Knoxville was too good to pass up.
“The love it is just a real big family and I really love that about Tennessee,” Harris said. “It’s a really good football program and they are a great team every year, consistent team every year and I really like that about them.”
He joins a Tennessee class that now appears to be firmly entrenched inside the top 10 for the 2026 cycle, and he joins CJ Edwards in the EDGE room.
