Tennessee has seven players represented on the All-SEC teams announced this afternoon. The SEC selects a first, second and a third team.

Wideout Chris Brazzell was named first-team receiver. Brazzell became the third Tennessee wideout to record 1,000 yards in a single season in the Josh Heupel era joining Cedric Tillman in 2021 and Jalin Hyatt in 2022.

Brazzell is the only Vol to make the first team.

Running back DeSean Bishop, linebacker Arion Carter and kickoff specialist Josh Turbyville were named 2nd team All-SEC. Bishop led the Vols in rushing with 983 yards and 14 touchdowns.

Carter played in 10 games this season, as he battled turf toe injuries, he led the team in tackles with 76. Carter also had 1.5 sacks and a forced fumble.

Turbyville had 67 touchbacks on 78 kicks and opponents had just 183 yards on 10 returns this season.

A trio of Vols made the third team; Lance Heard, transfer Colton Hood and freshman Ty Redmond

Heard had his best season as a Vol helping Tennessee’s offense become the highest scoring squad in the SEC. Heard started every game as an anchor for the Vols at left tackle.

Colton Hood was a late arrival as he transferred in from Colorado in the spring. Hood stepped in at cornerback for Jermod McCoy who ended up missing the whole year with his torn ACL.

Hood saw his draft stock rise as he recorded 50 tackles, 4.5 TFL’s, an interception and 8 PBU’s.

Redmond was thrown onto the field 19 snaps into the season opener against Syracuse after Rickey Gibson suffered a season ending bicep injury. Redmond was picked on in the middle of the season but finished the year well. The Georgia native played in all 12 games his first year starting 11 of them. Redmond had 39 tackles plus a team high three interceptions. He also led the defense with 10 PBU’s.
