Tennessee releases first injury report ahead of Mississippi State match up

Tennessee Football on Wednesday released its first injury report for their first SEC road game against Mississippi State on Saturday afternoon (4:15 Eastern Time, SEC Network):
Player | Position | Status |
Jaxson Moi | DL | Probable |
Daune Morris | RB | Questionable |
David Sanders | OL | Questionable |
Daevin Hobbs | DL | Out |
Jermod McCoy | DB | Out |
Rickey Gibson | DB | Out |
Radarious Jackson | WR | Out |
Hunter Barnes | RB | Out |
Moi suffered an upper-body injury against Syracuse and has not played since. Moi likely could have played against UAB but Tennessee chose to hold him out. Moi made a post on Instagram earlier this week that hinted that he was returning, but he quickly removed it.
Hobbs has been sidelined since suffering a foot injury late in fall camp that required surgery. Hobbs is back running and continues to rehab with hopes of being ready for Arkansas. McCoy continues to be out while coming back from the torn ACL he suffered while training in January. He made his return to the practice field late in fall camp. However, he has not returned to team periods in practice and has taken no contact both benchmarks McCoy has to hit.
Gibson, Tennessee’s starting corner opposite of McCoy, was injured in the win over Syracuse to open the season in Atlanta on August 30. Head coach Josh Heupel has stated that Gibson would be out “an extended period” of time.

“How long,” Heupel added, “I don’t have the exact time table but he’ll be out for an extended time.”
Freshman wide receiver Radarious Jackson is out with a collarbone injury.
Fellow freshman David Sanders has yet to play this year. The five star offensive tackle is still regaining strength following an injury he suffered Wednesday before the season opener against Syracuse. Sanders has worked more this week and is listed as questionable.
It’s “a unique injury, you know, doctors are uncertain,” Heupel said during his press conference on Monday. “That’s why he’s kind of been day to day for a while here and (it has been) uncertain.”
Sanders has done more on the practice field this week.
