Tennessee throws second combined no-hitter of the year

For the second time this season, top-ranked Tennessee has thrown a no-hitter, the latest coming in Friday’s run ruled win. Tennessee starter Liam Doyle and Dylan Loy combined to no-hit Texas A&M in a 10-0 win in seven innings.
The last time Tennessee threw multiple no-hitters in a single season was 1976. It was also the first no-hitter in conference play since Vanderbilt accomplished the feat in a combined win over Kentucky back in 2022.
Liam Doyle was the starter for the second time in a no hitter this season. Doyle went six innings striking out eight. Doyle did walk two and hit two batters, but didn’t give up a hit in a 96-pitch night. Loy came in for the top of the seventh and made quick work to end the night.
Tennessee previously accomplished the feat on four separate occasions, including earlier this year.
The Vols defeated St. Bonaventure 12-0 on March 3, 2025. Five pitchers combined for the no-hitter, led by Doyle, who had 13 strikeouts in 5.2 innings.
