Look: Tennessee Baseball's injury report for weekend series at LSU

Tennessee Baseball will be without Brayden Krenzel for this weekend’s series at LSU due to an illness. Alberto Osuna continues to be listed as out due to his ineligibly and pitcher Tanner Wiggins is out.
No. 6 Tennessee (34-7, 12-6 SEC) goes to No. 5 LSU (34-8, 12-6) this weekend, starting with Friday’s 7:30 p.m. Eastern Time game (SEC Network+) at Alex Box Stadium. The Vols and Tigers play Saturday at 8 p.m. ET (ESPNU) and 3 p.m. ET on Sunday (SEC Network).
Krenzel made the trip to Baton Rouge and is progressing while dealing with the illness. The 6-foot-3, 214-pound freshman right-hander, has appeared in 10 games this season and has made one start. His last appearance was 2.2 innings against Ole Miss on April 13, when he gave up two runs on four hits while striking out five.
He also made SEC appearances against Texas A&M, South Carolina and Alabama. On the season he has a 4.12 ERA and a 1.37 WHIP over 19.2 innings pitched.
Tony Vitello updates status of Tanner Wiggins after foul ball incident
Wiggins took a foul ball to the jaw in last weekend’s series against Kentucky. The incident required emergency oral surgery, but Wiggins is now back home at his apartment in Knoxville.
The 6-foot-2, 189-pound sophomore right-hander from North Richland Hills, Texas, has appeared in four games this season, pitching 2.1 innings. He’s given up just one hit with four strikeouts and four walks. He pitched one inning against UNC Asheville on February 18, 0.1 innings against Rice on March 1 and 0.1 against St. Bonaventure on March 9.
His last outing was against Bellarmine on April 15, when he pitched 0.2 innings with one strikeout.

“Tanner’s teammates rallied around him in a pretty impressive fashion,” Vitello said Monday morning during an appearance on WNML-FM in Knoxville. “Some of those guys were at the hospital really late. I think he went into surgery about 11:30 or midnight (Saturday) night. His family was able to rush and make it up, so I know his dad is here now.
“He’s now back at home at his apartment, which is impressive, following surgery on his jaw.”
Vols have dropped two of last three SEC series
Tennessee dropped two of three against Kentucky at Lindsey Nelson Stadium last weekend, dropping its second straight home series for the first time under Tony Vitello.
The Vols bounced back with an 11-1 run-rule win over Lipscomb on Tuesday. LSU lost 13-3 in seven innings to Northwestern State on Tuesday.
“There’s some Listerine out there today,” Vitello said after Tuesday’s win. “Get that bad taste out of your mouth from the weekend … soon as that game’s over on Sunday, it’s kind of like being back in the subdivision. You get your butt kicked, you’d like to play 30 seconds later, like, let’s run it back.”
Tennessee is back home to host Northern Kentucky on Tuesday and has SEC series left at home against Auburn and Vanderbilt before finishing the regular-season schedule at Arkansas.
The SEC Tournament begins May 20 at Hoover Met Stadium in Hoover, Ala.
