Tennessee's Liam Doyle, Andrew Fischer become unanimous first team All-Americans

Liam Doyle and Andrew Fischer made Tennessee Baseball history on Thursday when they became the first teammates to earn unanimous first team All-American honors in the same season.
Doyle and Fischer were named All-Americans by D1Baseball.com, the ABCA, Baseball America, the College Baseball Foundation, NCBWA and Perfect Game.
They are the seventh and eighth players in Tennessee program history to be named first team All-American by five or more media outlets, joining Todd Helton (1995), Jeff Pickler (1998), Chris Burke (2001), Luke Hochevar (2005), Chase Dollander (2022) and Blake Burke (2024).
Doyle, Fischer starred for Vols after transferring to Tennessee
Doyle, who transferred from Ole Miss to Tennessee alongside Fischer, was one of the most best pitchers in college baseball this season. The Tennessee ace finished with a 10-4 record in 17 starts and 19 appearances. He had a 3.20 ERA, 0.99 WHIP and struck out 164 against just 32 walks over 95.2 innings pitched.
Fischer hit a team-high 25 home runs after transferring from Ole Miss. He hit .341 while also leading Tennessee in RBI (65), runs scored (70), total bases (165), walks (63), slugging percentage (.760), on-base percentage (.497) and OPS (1.257).
Gavin Kilen was named first team All-American by Baseball America, Perfect Game and the College Baseball Foundation.
Kilen hit a team-high .357 and had a 1.112 OPS with a .671 slugging percentage after transferring to Tennessee. He hit 15 home runs, had 46 RBI and 60 runs scored on his 75 hits, which included 13 doubles and four triples. He started 52 times in 53 games.

Eight Tennessee players in MLB.com’s top-200 prospect ranking for MLB Draft
Doyle, Tennessee’s new single-season strikeout record holder with 164, was also named SEC Pitcher of the Year and First Team All-SEC. He’s a semifinalist for the 2025 National Pitcher of the Year and a finalist for the 2025 Golden Spikes Award and 2025 Dick Howser Trophy.
The Golden Spikes Award is considered the most prestigious honor in college baseball and the Dick Howser Trophy is given annually to college baseball’s best player. Doyle is just the fourth player in Tennessee program history to be named a finalist for the Golden Spikes Award.
Doyle, Kilen and Fischer are all in the top in the top 30 of MLB.com‘s prospect rankings for this summer’s MLB Draft. Doyle is No. 9 overall while Kilen is No. 17 and Fischer is No. 29.
Eight Tennessee players are ranked in the top 200: No. 58 Dean Curley, No. 65 Marcus Phillips, No. 69 AJ Russell, No. 119 Tanner Franklin and No. 143 Nate Snead.
