Tennessee in 2023 announced Thompson-Boling Arena’s naming rights had been sold to Food City, a deal worth $20 million over 10 years.
Renovations at Food City Center include new Riverside Club
The Vols announced “new and needed renovations to the arena and upgrades to the facility’s interior and exterior” at the time, including the state-of-the-art center-hung video board, new club amenities, updates to the Ray Mears Room and modernization of the arena’s exterior that will make it look “more in line with Tennessee’s other athletics venues.”
The new Riverside Club is being added in the lower level of the arena behind the lower bowl. An area is now an open space where for television trucks and other production vehicles previously parked for events.
According to a Tennessee press release on the project in January, approximately 1,500 seats in this area will now have access to a club area that will offer various food and beverage options and an area for socializing before the game or during halftime.
