4-star Tennessee Basketball target Bo Ogden sets commitment date

Four-star prospect and Tennessee Basketball target Bo Ogden will announce his commitment decision on Tuesday, according to Sam Kayser, and will be picking between the Vols, Texas and Purdue. Ogden visited Tennessee on September 20.
Ogden is the son of former Tennessee assistant and current Texas Basketball general manger Chris Ogden, who played and was a longtime assistant coach under Rick Barnes.
Ogden, listed at 6-foot-5, 180 pounds out of Westlake High School in Austin, Texas, is ranked No. 34 overall in the Rivals Industry Ranking. In July he had Tennessee in his top six along with Texas, Purdue, Gonzaga, Kansas and Virginia.
Chris Ogden starred for Barnes at Texas as a senior captain on the 2003 Final Four team and later coached under him, including the 2015-16 season at Tennessee.
“Tennessee is amazing and Coach Barnes is like a grandfather to me,” Bo Ogden told On3’s Joe Tipton, while breaking down each of his top six schools.
“Obviously my dad played for him and coached with him for a long time. I used to live in Knoxville and I have looked up to guys like Dalton Knecht and Chaz Lanier.”
Tennessee scheduled to host multiple official visitors this fall
Ogden has visited each of three finalists, Tennessee, Texas and Purdue.
“I think I’m a really good shooter, but this summer I’ve really developed the ability to be on the ball and create on the ball for myself and for others,” Ogden told On3. “So, I’d say I’m a shooting creator. I watch a lot of Ty Jerome, and Luka (Doncic) for ball screen stuff.”

Tennessee hosted four-star point guard Miles Sadler the last weekend of August and four-star small forward Ralph Scott and four-star power forward Latrell Allmond the weekend of September 13. Sadler is ranked No. 30 in the Rivals Industry Ranking and is the No. 4 point guard in the 2026 class. Allmond is ranked No. 29 overall and is No. 4 at power forward.
The Vols later this fall are scheduled to host four-star small forward Manny Green, four-star small forward Bryson Howard, four-star shooting guard Jasiah Jervis, five-star small forward Christian Collins and five-star point guard Deron Rippey Jr. on official visits.
Bo Ogden planning fall visits, signing in November
Ogden told On3’s Jamie Shaw over the summer that he wanted to sign during the early signing period in November, after taking fall visits.
“I want somewhere where I have a really good fit, somewhere I can play early,” Ogden told Shaw. “I want to get that development. And somewhere I have a really good connection with the coaching staff.
“I would say that fit and play style is definitely like my number one of what matters.”
Tennessee is offering both as his recruitment continues.
“They’ve had guys Dalton Knecht most recently,” Ogden said, “that have played a lot like me. I really like Coach P (Gregg Polinsky) over there, it’s been really good getting to know him.”
