Tennessee Basketball adds commitment from 2026 Chicago point guard

Tennessee Basketball on Wednesday received a commitment from three-star Chicago point guard Marquis Clark. The 6-foot-2 point guard is ranked No. 281 nationally in the Rivals Industry Ranking.

He’s the No. 55 point guard in the class and the No. 7 overall prospect in the state of Illinois, out of Whitney Young High School.

Clark the third commitment for the Vols in a little over two weeks.

Four-star small forward Ralph Scott committed to Tennessee on Sept. 30, picking the Vols over Purdue, Houston and Texas A&M.

The 6-foot-8, 185-pound Scott, a native of Bermuda, attends IMG Academy in Bradenton, Fla., and is the No. 57 overall prospect in the country. He’s the No. 22 small forward and the No. 7 prospect in the state of Florida.

Manny Green, a 6-foot-6, 205-pound small forward, committed to Tennessee on Oct. 10.

He’s a four-star prospect out of Cedar Grove High School in Ellenwood, Ga., and is ranked No. 104 nationally, No. 37 at small forward and No. 5 in the state of Georgia. Green committed to the Vols over Auburn and Georgia Tech, among others. 

What’s next for Tennessee Basketball recruiting

Tennessee is a little over a week away from arguably its biggest recruiting weekend of the year. 

The Vols, who host Duke in a sold-out preseason exhibition game on October 26, are scheduled to host five-star point guard Derron Rippey Jr., four-star Jasiah Jervis and five-star small forward Christian Collins.

Rippey is ranked No. 13 nationally and is the No. 2 point guard in the class and Jervis is No. 39 in the class and is the No. 8 shooting guard. Collins is ranked No. 8 nationally and is the No. 3 small forward.

Vols signed No. 9 class in 2025, added three players from portal

Tennessee has nine new players on the 2025-26 roster after losing seniors Zakai ZeiglerJahmai MashackChaz LanierJordan GaineyIgor Milicic and Darlinstone Dubarlast season.

Tennessee’s 2025 signing class was ranked No. 9 nationally and No. 4 in the SEC with a class score of 92.99. The Vols signed five-star small forward Nate Ament (No. 2 overall), four-star guard Amari Evans (No. 68), four-star center Dewayne Brown (No. 96), three-star point guard Troy Henderson (No. 261) and three-star guard Clarence Massamba(No. 262).

The Vols added three players out of the NCAA Transfer Portal: former Maryland point guard Ja’Kobi Gillespie, former Louisiana Tech guard Amaree Abram and former Vanderbilt forward Jaylen Carey.
