Tennessee Basketball is in the top nine for four-star power forward Latrell Allmond, the No. 25 overall player in the Rivals rankings in the 2026 class. The Vols made the top nine alongside Arizona, Indiana, Kansas, Maryland, Miami, Michigan State, Oklahoma State and Virginia.

The 6-foot-8, 225-pound Allmond, out of Richmond, Va., is the No. 5 power forward in the class and the No. 2 player in the state of Virginia.

He’s the No. 31 overall player in the Rivals Industry Ranking, but is the No. 4 power forward.

Tennessee hosted Latrell Allmond on unofficial visit last September

Allmond broke down his top nine schools in an interview with On3’s Joe Tipton

“Tennessee is right there for me,” Allmond said. “Coach (Justin) Gainey has been recruiting me since the eighth grade, so just him being there and him believing in me from the jump means a lot.

“I took an unofficial there, the facilities are great. They have culture there, a winning culture.”

Allmond took an unofficial visit to Tennessee last September. He’s coming off an official visit at Indiana in June.

On3’s Jamie Shaw noted this week that, according to sources, Indiana, Tennessee and Oklahoma State “are the three schools that have done a good job recruiting Allmond for the longest periods of time.”

“The 6-foot-8 forward has seen his stock rise in recent months,” Shaw wrote, “as he is currently sitting as a top-50 prospect aross the industry. Allmond’s rise started with a big showing at June’s NBPA Top 100 Camp and followed during the scholastic live periods at the end of that month. Allmond had a lot of eyes on him in July, playing with his Team Loaded VA program on the Adidas 3SSB Circuit.”

Latrell Allmond ‘one of the biggest risers in this cycle’

Tennessee does not currently have any commitments in its 2026 class. The Vols signed five prep prospects and three transfers in 2025, headlined by five-star small forward Nate Ament, the No. 2 overall player int he class, and Maryland transfer point guard Ja’Kobi Gillespie.

“Allmond is a noted tough guy,” Shaw wrote. “A player who finds winning plays consistently throughout the course of a game. A lot of that is why he is currently ranked No. 25 in the 2026 On3 150

“This summer, with the Team Loaded VA program on the Adidas 3SSB Circuit, Allmond is averaging 15.0 and 7.5 rebounds while shooting 47.1 percent from three. Allmond had the baselines buzzing as he continues to be one of the biggest risers in this cycle.”
