Tennessee Basketball's SEC schedule announced with loaded January slate

Tennessee Basketball will open the Southeastern Conference schedule at Arkansas on January 3, starting a front-loaded run that includes games against Texas, Florida, Texas A&M, Kentucky, Alabama and Auburn all in the month of January.

The SEC on Wednesday announced its league-wide basketball schedule for the 2025-26 season, with Tennessee adding a home-and-home with Alabama, along with the annual home-and-homes against Kentucky and Vanderbilt.

The Vols will host Texas on either January 6 or 7, will go to Florida on January 10 and will play Texas A&M at home on either January 13 or 14.

Tennessee has a bye week with no midweek game on January 20 or 21, goes to Alabama on January 24 and plays at Georgia on either January 27 or 28. The month closes with a home date against Auburn on January 31.

In February Tennessee plays Ole Miss (February 3 or 4), at Kentucky (February 7), at Mississippi State (February 11), LSU (February 14), Oklahoma (February 17 or 18), at Vanderbilt (February 21), at Missouri (February 24) and Alabama (February 28).

In March the Vols go to South Carolina (March 3 or 4), then close the regular-season schedule at home against Vanderbilt.

Vols host Duke in exhibition game on October 26

Tennessee finished fourth in the SEC standings last season, going 12-6 in league play before advancing to the SEC Tournament championship game, where the Vols lost to Florida 86-77.

Rick Barnes has led Tennessee to back-to-back Elite Eight appearances, going 30-8 last season and 27-9 in 2023-24.

Tennessee will host Duke on October 26 in an exhibition game at Food City Center. Tipoff is scheduled for 7 p.m. Eastern Time and ticket information can be found here.

Tennessee Basketball’s non-conference schedule

After opening the season against Mercer on November 3, the Vols host Northern Kentucky on November 8 and North Florida on November 12. Rice, coached by former Tennessee associate head coach Rob Lanier, will play in Knoxville on November 17, followed by a home game against Tennessee State on November 24.

Tennessee will play three games in the Players Era tournament in Las Vegas the last week of November, starting with Rutgers on November 24 and Houston on November 25. A third game the Players Era tournament will be played on either November 25 or November 26.

From there, Tennessee goes to Syracuse for the ACC-SEC Challenge on December 2 and faces Illinois at Bridgestone Arena in Nashville on December 6. The Vols host Louisville on December 16, Gardner-Webb on December 21 and close the non-conference schedule against South Carolina State on December 30.
