Dalton Bargo to transfer to NC State for 2026 season

Tennessee junior utility player Dalton Bargo went undrafted in the 2025 Major League Baseball Draft two weeks ago and is set to transfer to NC State, sources told Volquest on Thursday. The slugger was a draft-eligible junior who has spent two seasons on Rocky Top and the 2025 campaign as the eventual everyday left fielder.
The junior hit for a .272 average with 14 home runs and 40 runs batted in across 202 at-bats with 54 starts across 63 games played this past season. Bargo scored 47 runs on the season and was third on the team with 14 doubles. The junior was exceptional in Southeastern Conference play on the year, hitting .312 (third on team) while tying for the third-most home runs (7) and RBI (22) in the 30-game league slate.
Bargo settled in as the primary let field for the Vols down the stretch after appearing in right field for two games, catcher for two games, third base for 18 games and first base for seven contests this past season. In two seasons with the Vols, Bargo appeared in left field for 38 games.
The utility payer signed with Missouri out of high school, acting as the primary designate hitter in the lineup as a true freshman while catching in one game. In 50 games with the Tigers in 2023, Bargo tallied a .295 batting average with five home runs and 23 RBI.
