How To Watch: No. 15 Tennessee vs. No. 6 Georgia in the SEC opener

Tennessee Football is set for an SEC showdown at Neyland Stadium on Saturday, hosting Georgia to open league play in a 3:30 p.m. Eastern Time kickoff on ABC. The game can be streamed through the ESPN app and the radio play-by-play can be heard on The Vol Network as well as on satellite radio.

Tennessee (2-0) beat ETSU 72-17 Saturday afternoon at Neyland Stadium, after opening the season with a 45-26 win over Syracuse in Atlanta. Georgia (2-0) beat Austin Peay 28-6 on Saturday, a week after beating Marshall 45-7 at home to start the season.

Saturday is Tennessee’s ‘Checker Neyland’ game. The Vols will also spend the weekend honoring former standout defensive lineman John Henderson with him set to be inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame in the class of 2025.

Vols move up seven spots in AP Top 25, Georgia drops

Tennessee shot up seven spots in the new Associated Press Top 25 on Sunday afternoon and is now ranked No. 15 after the win over ETSU. The Vols are also ranked No. 15 in the Coaches Poll after moving up two spots.

Georgia dropped two spots to No. 6 in the AP Top 25 and stayed at No. 3 in the new Coaches Poll.

Tennessee was ranked No. 18 in the preseason Coaches Poll before moving up to No. 17 last week. The Vols were ranked No. 24 in the preseason AP Top 25 before moving up two spots after beating Syracuse.

ESPN’s College GameDay headed to Knoxville

ESPN announced on Saturday night that College GameDay will be headed to Knoxville to broadcast live Saturday morning ahead of the Tennessee-Georgia showdown at Neyland Stadium. 

The show will originate from the lawn in front of Ayres Hall on The Hill. 

College GameDay has been to Knoxville two other times during the Josh Heupel era, for the wins over Florida and Georgia during the 2022 season. 

Tennessee opened as touchdown underdog at home vs. Georgia

The Vols on Sunday opened as a touchdown underdog for the Georgia game, according to BetMGM, but the line moved to 4.5 points Sunday night.

Tennessee has lost eight straight in the Georgia series, dating back to the Jauan Jennings Hail Mary in the 34-31 win in Athens in 2016.

The Vols have failed to cover in their last six games against the Bulldogs and are 13-15-1 against the spread and 16-13 over/under dating back to 1995. 

Tennessee was an 8.5-point underdog at Georgia last November, in the 31-17 loss at Sanford Stadium. The Vols were a nine-point home underdog in 2023 and a 19.5-point underdog in Knoxville in 2021, in the first season under Josh Heupel
