No. 7 Tennessee vs. Kentucky: Pregame injury report updates

Tennessee and Kentucky issued their final injury reports updates Saturday evening, 90 minutes before the seventh-ranked Vols (6-1, 3-1 SEC) host the Wildcats (3-5, 1-5) on Saturday night (7:45 Eastern Time, SEC Network) at Neyland Stadium.
Defensive back Jourdan Thomas, linebacker Keenan Pili and linebacker Edwin Spillman are the only three players listed as out for Tennessee.
Both freshman offensive lineman William Satterwhite and sophomore defensive lineman Caleb Herring are off the injury report for the Vols after being listed as questionable to start the week. Satterwhite was updated to probable on Thursday, then removed on Friday, while Herring remained questionable through Friday.
Herring, the 6-foot-5, 249-pounder in his second season with the Vols, has appeared in six games this season, recording three tackles, including one two weeks ago in the 24-17 win over Alabama. He had three tackles in 11 games, including a tackle for loss, in 11 games last season.
Kentucky has 13 players listed as out and one player listed as probable.
“Our guys are beat down pretty good,” Kentucky coach Mark Stoops said during Wednesday’s SEC Coaches Teleconference. “We got to get our guys healthy this week. We have a have to have a really strong week of practice and prepare for a great challenge ahead of us, and we have a lot to improve on. So that’s what we’re focusing on right now.”

SEC Injury Reports
The SEC in August announced “availability reports” for football, basketball and baseball.
“This availability reporting policy is intended to reduce pressure from outside entities seeking participation information,” said SEC Commissioner Greg Sankey, “and represents a commitment of our 16 institutions to provide enhanced transparency to support efforts to protect our student-athletes and the integrity of competition.”
Players will be listed as available, probable, questionable, doubtful or out for their next game. On game day the updates will include available, game-time decision or out.
Schools of who fail to provide accurate and timely availability reports will be subject to penalties from $25,000, for first-time offenders, to $100,000 for “third and further” offenses in football. Men’s basketball, women’s basketball and baseball fines will be between $15,000 and $25,000.
