Where Tennessee Football is ranked after the 31-11 win at Florida

Tennessee Football moved up two spots to No. 18 in both the Associated Press Top 25 and the Coaches Poll on Sunday afternoon, after the 31-11 win at Florida Saturday night.

The Vols (8-3, 5-4 SEC) host No. 12 Vanderbilt (9-2, 5-2) on Saturday (3:30 p.m. Eastern Time, ESPN) on Senior Day at Neyland Stadium in the regular-season finale.

Tennessee started the season at No. 18 in the preseason Coaches Poll and No. 25 in the preseason AP Top 25. The Vols climbed as high as No. 11 in both polls after a 5-1 start to the season, before the loss at Alabama in October. 

Tennessee ranked No. 20 in College Football Playoff Top 25

The lowest Tennessee was ranked during the season was No. 23 in the Coaches Poll and No. 25 in the AP Top 25 coming off the loss to Oklahoma on November 1.

Tennessee came in at No. 20 in the College Football Top 25 Tuesday night, in the third update of the season. The Vols were ranked No. 25 in the first playoff rankings of the season and moved up to No. 23 last week.

Tennessee has been ranked in every College Football Playoff Top 25 since the 2022 season, with the streak now at 20 consecutive weeks.

Vols were nearly perfect in 31-0 first half at Florida

Tennessee’s offense on Saturday night started a perfect 4-for-4, scoring four touchdowns to jump out to a 28-0 lead early in the second quarter. The Vols scored on drives of 75, 60, 67 and 46 yards. 

Joey Aguilar was perfect in the first quarter, too, going 9-for-9 for 126 yards and a touchdown. He opened the scoring with a 23-yard touchdown to Ethan Davis on Tennessee’s opening drive. After that it was two DeSean Bishop 1-yard touchdown dives, then a 1-yard Star Thomas touchdown run.

Thomas set up the fourth touchdown with a 52-yard run on third-and-17.

Aguilar finished the first half with 146 yards and the touchdown to Davis while the Vols ran 31 times for 177 yards, averaging 5.7 yards per attempt to go with the three rushing touchdowns. 

Tennessee out-gained Florida 323-110 in the first half, including 190-2 in the first quarter. The Vols went 4-for-6 on third down while the Gators were 0-for-5.
