Tennessee football on Sunday opened a 23-point favorite for Saturday’s regular-season finale against Vanderbilt at Neyland Stadium, according to initial lines released Sunday by Circa Sports. The Vols are coming off back-to-back losses at Missouri and at home against Georgia while Vandy was off on Saturday.

Tennessee (7-3, 3-4 SEC) and Vanderbilt (2-9, 0-7) are scheduled for a 3:30 p.m. Eastern Time kickoff. The game will be televised by SEC Network.

The Commodores have lost nine straight games after starting the season 2-0, after wins over Hawaii and Alabama A&M. The Vols lost 36-7 at Missouri last week and 38-10 at home against Georgia.

Against The Spread

Tennessee dropped to 6-5 against the spread this season after the 38-10 loss to No. 1 Georgia on Saturday at Neyland Stadium, after entering the game as a 10.5-point underdog.

The Vols covered against South Carolina (-11.5), UTSA (-23.5), Virginia (-27.5) and UConn (-35) and failed to cover against Austin Peay (-48.5), at Florida (-5.5), at Alabama (+8.5), at Mizzou (-2.5) and against Georgia.

Vanderbilt is 1-9 against the spread this season, with the lone cover coming against Georgia (+32.5) in the 37-20 loss to the Bulldogs on October 14 in Nashville. 

The Commodores failed to cover against Hawaii (-17.5), Alabama A&M (-35.5), at Wake Forest (+9.5), at UNLV (-4.5), Kentucky (+13), Missouri (+13.5), at Florida (+18), at Ole Miss (+24), and Auburn (+12.5).
