Tennessee standout wide receiver Chris Brazzell received more postseason recognition following his stellar junior campaign in Knoxville on Monday as the Associated Press appointed him to their Third-Team All-American roster.

Brazzell, who declared for the NFL Draft last week and will be opting-out of the Music City Bowl, led the Southeastern Conference in receiving and tied for a conference-best nine receiving scores.

The redshirt-junior, in his second year with the Vols, caught 62 passes for 1,017 yards and nine touchdowns. He had 19 catches for 333 yards and two touchdowns in 2024, after transferring from Tulane. In 15 games at Tulane, he caught 45 passes for 722 yards and five touchdowns. Brazzell is ranked No. 7 at wide receiver on Mel Kiper Jr.’s NFL Draft Big Board. He’s ranked No. 34 overall on ESPN’s list of the best available prospects in the draft.

Brazzell graduated from Tennessee on Friday and became the third 1,000-yard receiver of the Josh Heupel era at Tennessee, joining Cedric Tillman (2021) and Jalin Hyatt (2022). His 1,017 yards ranked ninth in program history for a single-season total.

The Texas native was the lone receiver from the SEC to appear on any of the AP All-American teams and is the second Volunteer wideout in for years (Hyatt) to receive AP honors.

Overall, Brazzell’s breakout season boasted four 100-yard receiving games, including a career-best 177-yard, three-touchdown outing against Georgia. Brazzell becomes the fifth Josh Heupel-coached player at Tennessee to receive AP All-American honors, joining Hyatt (2022), Hendon Hooker (2022), Jermod McCoy (2024) and Dylan Sampson (2024).

Brazzell has already been named First-Team All-SEC by the coaches and AP and was a Biletnikoff Award Semifinalist this season.
