The Tennessee Volunteers return home on Saturday and will take on Arkansas in a revenge game for the Vols from the 2024 season. Josh Heupel’s program is expected to host a number of recruits over the weekend, and Volquest highlights a couple of headliners, and more in this installment of Trail Tidbits.

Elite 2027 RB David Gabriel-Georges set to return

As Volquest first reported on Tuesday, long-time Tennessee running back target David Gabriel-Georges is set to return to Knoxville this weekend, along with his family, who will make the trip from Canada.

A focal point during his upcoming visit to Rocky Top will be the Tennessee offense.

“I want to just continue to see how they use those guys more,” Gabriel-Georges told Volquest earlier in the fall. “When I was there in the summer, Coach De’Rail told me about how they use them and how they include their running backs in the passing game. That is something I like a lot. I want to see that because it gives me more opportunities to make plays. I want to see how they continue to get their running backs in the open field more because that is really great. Coach Kimrey makes sure I get in the open field more here, and they use me in the passing game a lot, so I want to see if it is kind of similar.”

Long-time CB target Larry Moon ready to visit Tennessee again

Tennessee has recruited Larry Moon for an extended period of time, and the 2027 cornerback is set to return to Knoxville this weekend. He told Volquest earlier in the fall that he has built a strong relationship with the staff.

“Every time I go there, they show me something different,” Moon said of this. “They show me something different as a recruit. They show me a different part of the program and the school. It is a family environment. They make me and my family feel welcome and treat me like I am a part of the team already. I love the people, I love the staff, I love the players, and I just love everything down there.”

Since schools could start contacting 2027 recruits directly earlier this summer, the Vols have made Moon feel like even more of a priority.

“They have most definitely made me a priority even more since then,” the four-star said of this. “We talk on like an every day basis. “It is just really good. I love it down there, and they love me. So I am just grateful for the way they treat me.”
